Our school is approximately 8 mins from the township of Castlemaine on the Pyrenees Highway, approximately 6 kilometres. Students enrolled at CSSK come from a range of towns across the Central Goldfields area such as Maryborough, Bendigo, Kyneton, Newstead, Daylesford and all parts of Castlemaine such as Barkers Creek & Chewton etc.

Aside from parents driving their children to school, there are multiple school bus routes to the school and a cycling route that can also be used.

Our Office team can also assist with sharing information on parent organised car pool arrangements.

CSSK Carpark and general parking information

This map details the various parking areas across the school site for staff and parents.

During peak times it can get very busy so please be patient and note the 10 kph speed limit.

CSSK School Bus

We have a dedicated CSSK School Bus that begins its route in Chewton each morning and collects at 3 other locations across town before arriving at school. These stops are known as St Mary’s, Winters Flat & Campbells Creek. Full details and the timetable can be found here.

Students are reserved a place on the bus by prior arrangement via emailing enquiries@cssk.vic.edu.au, or texting the information to 0407 124 508, or calling the school on 5479 2000. We can then advise on costs and any eligibility to access available government funding for bus travel to school.

Newstead School Bus

A public School Bus is coordinated by the Castlemaine Secondary College. To book your child on to this bus please contact them 5479 1111.

Cycling to School

We have “Ride to School” events in the school year. For children/staff/parents cycling to school please note the following map on the safest route to cross the Pyrenees Highway when coming from Campbell’s Creek. Cyclists must then enter the school via the “Bush Track”. Thank-you to CycleSafe Mt Alexander for your advice.
