Student Wellbeing Support Worker

Make a real difference in this exciting part time role 

Castlemaine Steiner School & Kindergarten (CSSK) is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Student Wellbeing Worker to work with the Leadership and Wellbeing teams to support student wellbeing across the school. This includes:
• liaising with the school’s educational, wellbeing and leadership teams in the delivery of student wellbeing services
• contributing to improving student engagement and connectedness
• contributing to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
• contributing to providing pastoral care and guidance to students
• operating within the school community and with external providers.

This part-time role is 2 days a week (days to be negotiated) plus an hour per fortnight for meetings (total 13.5 hours per week),

Selection Criteria

  • Valid employee Working with Children Check
  • Experience supporting the general wellbeing of students within a school community
  • Experience delivering individual and small-group wellbeing assistance/support
  • Experience providing assistance/support to improve student engagement and connectedness
  • Ability to foster a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Ability to operate within a multidisciplinary team and liaise with external providers, including providing students with referrals to specialist services when required
  • Willingness to work with a Steiner-education view of child development

Disability Learning & Support Assistant

Part time contract 2026, family-friendly school hours

Castlemaine Steiner School & Kindergarten (CSSK) is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Disability Learning & Support Assistant to implement individualised strategies that promote engagement and independence, and facilitating meaningful participation in educational activities at primary school level.

This 1:1 role is 13hours per week, school hours Thursdays – Fridays, contract dates 22/1/2026 – 11/12/2026

Selection Criteria

Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children according to Child Safe Standards.

· Valid Working with Children Check (Employee).

· Demonstrated understanding of the Disability Standards for Education.

· Experience supporting young people in a sustained 1:1 capacity within an educational or care setting.

· Familiarity with working in an educational environment.

· Exemplary interpersonal communication skills.

· Ability to work under direction.

· Commitment to ongoing development of an understanding of Steiner Education.

  • Skills in movement, craft, musical instrument.
  • Some knowledge of Anthroposophy or experience of Steiner Education.

Requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Registered or Permission to Teach from the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
  • Minimum of two recent education profession references.
