Term 3 Week 8
I feel the strength of World-Existence:
So speaks Thought-Clarity,
Mindful of its own Spirit’s growth
In dark World Nights,
And turns toward the nearing Cosmic Day
Its inner rays of hope.

From The Calendar of the Soul by Rudolf Steiner

Ken is taking a well earned break!

Hello All,

Just a note to everyone in the school community that I will be taking a six month leave of absence to pursue study during Term 4 2021 & Term 1 2022.

I know that the office will be in the extremely capable hands of our wonderful Admin Team whilst I’m away.

(I will leave them with a supply of dad jokes just in case someone needs some silliness.)

I intend to return after Easter 2022 and, once again, be part of the fun of this school with its wonderful students, families & staff!

Take care, Ken

Class 1 News

How lovely to have had such beautiful Spring weather last week. The Class 1 yard is blooming and the bees are all buzzing……
“When the bees in the blossom trees busily hum
Then we know that the Springtime has finally come!”

Even though we would prefer to be back in the classroom, I have been very happy to see all your smiling faces at our Zoom sessions and I am most impressed with the work you have been showing me. I am looking forward to seeing it all properly when we return, so please keep it safely stored in your brown folders.
We have been following the explorations of Mini Minus, Paddy Plus and Maxine Multiply and this week King Dom Divide will teach us a few things about how to share out equally. He is a very good cook and has enjoyed making apple dumplings to share with his friends, so I hope that Class One can manage to taste those dumplings too….
Cheers,
Anna

Class 1, 2 and 3 Specialist Zooms

We have enjoyed seeing the children at our meetings over the past couple of weeks.

Together we have all been practicing some exercises, learning some Spanish songs and hearing updates on craft activities and the progress of pumpkin seeds.

The children have also shared some special news from their own homes. We have had reports on the planets in the night sky, local bird sightings, busy bees, wildflowers on bushwalks, homemade obstacle courses, bike rides on tricky tracks, knitting projects, juggling skills and other wonderful things.

It has been lovely to see everyone and keep up our connection in the best way we can at the moment.

Best wishes from Sue, Raziel, Chris and Lisa.

Feldenkrais The RE evolution of Motion

Hola!

Are you willing to run smooth, free, and a little like you are flying?

Here is your chance! Jae Gruenke, the founder of The Balanced Runner™, is offering an online camp especially for Australia!

Keep reading if you would like your running dreams to come true.

Once upon a time, I loved running; running was my medicine. But three years ago, I started to struggle. Something felt not smooth in my pelvis, and my right ankle was not like it used to be. I was confused, not knowing how to improve the relationship between my pelvis and my right ankle.

I did give up for a while, thinking maybe this is normal after having two kids, and assuming that discomfort was normal for my age.

However I wasn’t happy with letting go of my running because running is one of my most healing mental health activities.

I started looking for help and support to deal with my limitations, and luckily I  came across Jae Gruenke. The beginning of my running transformation was coming…

Jae uses the Feldenkrais Method intelligently to improve mobility and find a natural rhythm again. I started to follow her classes, and I learnt how to take care of myself before, during and after running!

And since then, I am running with more clarity and joy every time.

I have learnt how to run:

  • better
  • faster
  • more gracefully, like when I was a child
  • not pushing, pulling or feeling pain

Don’t miss out if you feel inspired by this story and would like to improve your running! It will be the first time that Jae is offering The Balanced Runner Online Camp especially for Australia!

Connecting Harcourt Families & Ride Sharing?

Hello Steiner families
We are a family living in Harcourt with Sonny in Class 2 and are wondering if there are any other families at the school, who live in Harcourt or nearby and would be interested in exploring opportunities to share lifts to or from school, once or twice a week. This could also work for any families who live in Castlemaine on our route to school. We are hoping to ease the time and energy involved in the daily drive – and perhaps an opportunity to forge another connection within the school community as we would want to get to know you a little too of course.
Many thanks,
Bron, Terry, Sonny and Kit
